Egocentric 4D Perception (EGO4D) is a massive-scale, egocentric dataset and benchmark suite collected across 74 worldwide locations and 9 countries, with over 3,025 hours of daily-life activity video. My role was to produce video and graphic deliverables to introduce the open source tool.
The purpose of this video is to show how diverse the collected data has been, and rich in numbers of video content gathering regular moments around the world. My job was to display these in a systematic way to maintain a sense of abundance, yet conveying how researchers can use it in many possibilities in a controlled visualization. I worked with almost a hundred videos to animate the flow from around the world, mainly using Premier Pro, Ai, and keynote.
By harmonizing the 13 data sets with a palette and clean layouts I was able to neutralize the chaos. I presented the team with several formats that would show the globality of the data before landing on a monochromatic illustration using map and simple icon elements.
A forward thinking snapshot of how this dataset could be used with anticipated technologies.
